The gist

Lenovo’s 2026 Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 uses a 13-inch 3.5K IPS display capable of 144Hz and a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Samsung’s newer Galaxy Tab S12+ delivers 12.6-inch AMOLED 2X at 120Hz, a Dimensity 9500, S Pen in box and DeX. Lenovo’s memory, storage, panel treatment and bundled accessories vary by precise model code.

How they compare in real life

PDFs and reading: Lenovo’s larger high-resolution IPS screen offers more room; Samsung’s AMOLED brings black-level advantages.

Notetaking: S12+ includes S Pen; Lenovo pen inclusion varies. Read the box contents before purchase.

Games and speed: 144Hz versus 120Hz doesn’t establish a gaming winner. Actual titles, thermals and optimization matter; no benchmarks were performed here.

The Gists buying recommendation

Lenovo’s Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is appealing for a large high-refresh LCD and potential value. Samsung’s S12+ is easier to recommend to those who explicitly want AMOLED, S Pen-in-box, DeX and an IP68-rated build. Confirm Lenovo model number and accessories first.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lenovo pen included?

Do not assume so; included accessories vary by SKU and retailer package.

Can both use microSD?

Both product families support microSD, with storage details varying by configuration.

Is 144Hz automatically better than AMOLED?

No. Refresh rate and panel contrast serve different needs.
